Technical Specifications and Compliance

Laminated timber Lintels are manufactured from kiln dried Radiata Pine, and treated to our customers specific requirements.

Material Handling Sheet

Glue

The glue used in the manufacture of Laminated Timber Lintels is a Melamine -urea formaldehyde (M.U.F.) resin system designed for engineered wood products. This resin is a structural adhesive which is also resistant to heat, mould, and fungi, and tolerates minimal exposure to weathering.

Lintel Storage

Unless requested otherwise, lintel packets arrive to your factory covered with white plastic. As Laminated Timber Lintels are manufactured from kiln-dried lumber it is important to store lintels under cover, preferably inside, until fixed in to a frame. Once fixed in to the frame, the building should be enclosed within a six to eight week period. This is with roof on and protective paper applied to exterior walls.

On Site Storage

Lintels should not be left exposed to the weather. If stored outside loose, or in packets, they should be kept off the ground with bearers and completely covered from the elements.
