Glue
Resorcinol Glue is a high performance, two-component adhesive designed to provide the strongest, most durable bonds in severe service applications. Once cured the resorcinol glue withstands continuous salt or fresh water immersion, outdoor exposure and sub zero temperatures. Designed for laminating structural wood beams and porous to semi-porous substrates.
Storage
Kanuka H3.2 Laminated Timber Beams are unsealed and it is recommended they are stored off the ground and under cover until sealed. Like all timber products they will absorb water and can be subject to sun cracking.
On Site
They should be painted/sealed with a reputable system as soon as possible. Ask your building merchant or local paint supplier for advice. In interior situations no specific treatment is required apart from routine maintenance over time. In exterior applications regular coating with appropriate paint or stain based protection systems maintains the product's visual appearance.
Treated timber may be over painted with most quality oil based primers and top coated in accordance with the paint manufacturers instructions. Treated timber may also be coated with most quality oil based stains, as per the manufacturers instructions. For more info visit http://www.nzwood.co.nz/how-wood/exterior-finishes
